Strijdom van der Merwe’s Land Art Talk at Le Quartier FrançaisStrijdom van der Merwe is an acclaimed land artist. He makes use of natural materials provided by his chosen sites. Using the natural surrounding world – sand, water, wood and rocks – Strijdom van der Merwe shapes the material into geometric forms that change continually until their unavoidable destruction. All that remains – of these forms – is Strijdom van der Merwe’s photographic image.
Strijdom van der Merwe – whose work is presently included in the latest IS Art exhibition – is giving a talk about his Land Art Projects at Le Quartier Français. This talk will take place in the Le Quartier Français Screening Room on Thursday the 12th of August 2010 at 18h30. To book call Alisha on 021 876 8443.

BaaFana BurgerWe are delighted to announce that Lamb Burger’s soccer mad nephew is in town!
BaaFana Burger arrived, in South Africa, last Friday. He’s a very busy chap but he has promised us that every Friday from now, until the end of the 2010 World Cup, he will make an appearance. This means that every Friday – until the end of World Cup – you can enjoy a BaaFana Burger, chips, a glass of Miss Molly wine and the free Friday night movie in our Screening Room! All this fun and delicious food for just R120 per person. We only have 30, yes that’s right ONLY 30, BaaFana Burgers available each Friday so – if you’d like to sink your teeth into Lamb Burger’s delicious nephew – you need to book fast. Le Quartier Français Packages – Book Now!2010 certainly began with a bang. It’s hard to believe that we’re already in the third month of the year. The Christmas and New Year break are now a distant memory, the Soccer World Cup is around the corner and the end of Summer is rapidly approaching. At Le Quartier Français we know that it’s been three long months since your last real break and we think it’s time you recharged your soul on a mini-break. Pick from our selection of fantastic packages (the stay for 4 pay for 3 is always popular) and book yourself and a loved one, or friend, in for a night or four.
We suggest checking out Franschhoek during the lesser-known months of April and May, it really is spectacular over this time. It’s not too hot, the wind is minimal and it’s far less frantic than during January and February. Plus restaurant bookings are far easier to come by! To view the various Le Quartier Français packages please visit our website. To book call us on +27218762151. See you soon!
