On the 14th of February Neil Jewell will be preparing a sensational three course dinner and there is only one unbreakable rule … absolutely no tables of two. In fact, to ensure strict enforcement of said unbreakable rule, everyone will be seated at one long and very social table. Don’t worry about feeling awkward there will be more than enough personality-reviving wine on offer from the Môreson. Who knows you might get to sit next to a real looker?
The dinner costs R250 per person (payable in advance) and includes a glass of Miss Molly Bubbly on arrival. There are only 20 places available so if you’re interested you really should book ASAP.

Charcuterie with Neil Jewell
Neil’s Charcuterie Workshops have proved to be so popular that we’ve added two more to the 2010 programme.

The workshops – which each take place over two days – cover the making of savoury French style sausage, cooked and air-dried hams, blood sausage and more.

Neil Jewell wins 2010 Global Pizza Challenge
Neil Jewell – head chef and Charcuterie King at Bread & Wine Vineyard Restaurant on Môreson – has recently won the South African leg of the 2010 Global Pizza Challenge. This means that in May 2010 Neil will be heading off to Melbourne to represent South Africa in finals of the Global Pizza Challenge.
The pizza that clinched first place – and, according to insider information, it knocked the judges socks off – had a smoked flour base and was topped with aubergine, confit of Karoo lamb, sheeps’ feta, buchu and quince dressing.
This pizza has now been added to the Bread & Wine menu making it possible for anyone dining at Bread & Wine to try Neil’s award-winning pizza.
Môreson Blessing of the Harvest 2010
It’s almost harvest time in Franschhoek which means that it’s nearly time for the Môreson Blessing of the Harvest. This year it takes place on Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of February and it costs R300 per person.
For those that haven’t had the chance to attend a Môreson Blessing of the Harvest it’s Môreson’s annual celebration of winemaking, one where every participant get the opportunity to make wine the old-fashioned way.
At Môreson’s Blessing of the Harvest you handpick your own basket of grapes and then press them using the oldest tools in the winemaking business – your feet. A relaxed lunch at the award-winning Bread & Wine Vineyard Restaurant and a highly competitive label design competition follow the harvesting and grape-stomping activities. The grapes you pick and stomp are then matured, into wine, by Môreson and available for collection later in the year.
