Seven Consecutive Years in The World’s Top 50 Restauraunts!

Le Quartier Français has been included, for the 7th consecutive year (and 8th year overall), in the S.Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

This year saw The Tasting Room, the only South African restaurant included in the 2011 Top 50 Restaurants, place 36th overall and number one in Africa and the Middle East.

Seven consecutive years in the S.Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurant rankings is an unbelievable accomplishment.  One that highlights the fact that Margot Janse, her team and our front of house staff are constantly working on The Tasting Room experience to ensure that it is a culinary space that never stagnates.

So hot right now …

Salad is the hot green of the moment.

Say goodbye to the disappointing restaurant salad bars of yesteryear and hello to an entirely salad-focussed offering courtesy of salad only bars which – as luck would have it – are popping up around the world. Picture modern salads with all the toppings you can imagine. It is quick, healthy, delicious and super waistline friendly. Yum-O!

I, for one, am a huge fan of this crunchy-licious trend.

Bye Bye Bunny

This week we bid a sad farewell to our Common Room Bunny. *sob*

Bunny, our beautiful boy, has found the perfect home in the UK and we couldn’t be happier for him and his new family.

Our dearest Bunny we want to thank you for being such a fabulous and supportive member of the Le Quartier Français team. We know that you’re going to love your new family, new home and new friends. We will miss you Bunny!

P.S. Don’t be a stranger. Please send us the occasional postcard, letter or little SMS.

Now that sounds great!
